This is an exploration of an idea I had for a series of salt and pepper packages. I had this idea to utilize the salt/pepper themselves to make the package visuals more interesting, more informative, and a little bolder than everything else on the shelf.
I decided to use the salt/pepper to visually reinforce and expand the information the type provided. I created a series of the words salt/pepper written in the actual products such that when displayed on the package the products are at their real world scales.
This is then coupled with supporting imagery of the products which I applied to the top of the containers, which also flows over the top onto the sides a bit.
The result is a design that allows the consumer to quickly identify the specific product and variation they are looking for.
